Have you ever felt frustrated because you weren’t experiencing what the bible calls “abundant life?”
“Jesus told this simple story, but they had no idea what he was talking about. So he tried again. “I’ll be explicit, then. I am the Gate for the sheep. All those others are up to no good—sheep rustlers, every one of them. But the sheep didn’t listen to them. I am the Gate. Anyone who goes through me will be cared for—will freely go in and out and find pasture. A thief is only there to steal and kill and destroy. I came so they can have real and eternal life, more and better life than they ever dreamed of.” John 10:6-10 MSG
How many times has your experience been one of everything but abundance!
So many Christians are still lacking knowledge in what is rightfully theirs.
We have been given our inheritance to enjoy in the now.
Ignorance isn’t bliss! It can kill you!
“My people are being destroyed because they don’t know me.” Hosea 4:6
….”but the people who know their God shall prove themselves strong and shall stand firm and do exploits [for God].” Daniel 11:32
Now is the only time on earth that we can do exploits for God. There is no pain, sickness or lack of any kind in heaven.
“The world is full of so-called prayer warriors who are prayer-ignorant. They’re full of formulas and programs and advice, peddling techniques for getting what you want from God. Don’t fall for that nonsense. This is your Father you are dealing with, and he knows better than you what you need. With a God like this loving you, you can pray very simply. Like this:
'Our Father in heaven,
Reveal who you are.
Set the world right;
Do what’s best— as above, so below.
Keep us alive with three square meals.
Keep us forgiven with you and forgiving others.
Keep us safe from ourselves and the Devil.
You’re in charge!
You can do anything you want!
You’re ablaze in beauty!
Yes. Yes. Yes.' Matthew 6:10 MSG
It's time to be more Kingdom minded!
Jesus only did what he saw the Father in heaven doing.
“Therefore, Jesus answered and was saying to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, unless it is something He sees the Father doing; for whatever the Father does, these things the Son also does in the same way. For the Father loves the Son and shows Him all things that He Himself is doing; and the Father will show Him greater works than these, so that you will be amazed.”
John 5:19-20
Those words should so comfort us, as Jesus is modelling to us the need for dependency on the Holy Spirit. It’s the Holy Spirit's role to reveal to us what Jesus is praying for regarding ourselves and others.
‘When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own but will tell you what he has heard. He will tell you about the future. 14 He will bring me glory by telling you whatever he receives from me. 15 All that belongs to the Father is mine; this is why I said, ‘The Spirit will tell you whatever he receives from me.’ John 16:13-15
It was the Holy Spirit who revealed those things to him.
Jesus is in heaven praying for you and I, so when we ask the Holy Spirit what to pray for a particular situation, a person, ourselves or a nation the Holy Spirit will listen to what Jesus is praying regarding that need and reveal it to us so that we can come in that perfect prayer of agreement with Jesus himself!
It sounds simple, so simple that we often miss it because we fail or forget to ask the Holy Spirit to show us what Jesus is praying!
“Therefore, He is able also to save to the uttermost (completely, perfectly, finally, and for all time and eternity) those who come to God through Him, since He is always living to make petition to God and intercede with Him and intervene for them.” Hebrews 7:25
There are so many weary Christians, and I believe it’s because they are tired and weary of hearing preaching that lacks authority and power. A preacher, and I include myself, has no right to bore anyone. It’s important that we have a message from God that is anointed and stirs others up!
The anointing is meant to change us into another man/woman just like it did with many people in the Bible. The anointing destroys the yoke of bondage that holds so many in depression and sickness. Jesus came to give us an exciting life, to have fun and destroy the works of the enemy. That’s why the Holy Spirit lives on the inside of the believer. He wants to express life in the Spirit through us, but so often he can’t because of our fear of what He might do! Time is short, Jesus is coming back soon and I for one want to be a worker of miracles and such!
‘The Spirit of the Lord will come powerfully upon you, and you will prophesy with them; and you will be changed into a different person.’ 1 Sam 10:6
‘But you are not like that, for the Holy One has given you his Spirit and all of you know the truth.’ 1 Jn 2:20
‘But you have received the Holy Spirit and he lives within you, so you don’t need anyone to teach you what is true. For the Spirit teaches you everything you need to know, and what he teaches is true—it is not a lie. So just as he has taught you, remain in fellowship with Christ.’ 1 Jn 2:27
We can’t have one foot in the world and one in the Spirit! That’s being double minded, and James tells us:
‘Consider it wholly joyful, my brethren, whenever you are enveloped in or encounter trials of any sort or fall into various temptations.
Be assured and understand that the trial and proving of your faith bring out endurance and steadfastness and patience.
But let endurance and steadfastness and patience have full play and do a thorough work, so that you may be [people] perfectly and fully developed [with no defects], lacking in nothing.
If any of you is deficient in wisdom, let him ask of the giving God [Who gives] to everyone liberally and ungrudgingly, without reproaching or fault-finding, and it will be given him.
Only it must be in faith that he asks with no wavering (no hesitating, no doubting). For the one who wavers (hesitates, doubts) is like the billowing surge out at sea that is blown hither and thither and tossed by the wind.
For truly, let not such a person imagine that he will receive anything [he asks for] from the Lord,
[For being as he is] a man of two minds (hesitating, dubious, irresolute), [he is] unstable and unreliable and uncertain about everything [he thinks, feels, decides].’
James 1:2-8
Ouch! Now don’t get all offended and bent out of shape with me as I’ve been there, done that and have all the t-shirts! God corrects those whom he loves.
I suppose the question is, do you want to heal the sick, work miracles, raise the dead, cast out demons, win the lost and be changed into His image and likeness, going from glory to glory? If you do and you’re in a cave then it’s time to make the decision to do what you need to do to be free!
‘Arise [from the depression and prostration in which circumstances have kept you—rise to a new life]! Shine (be radiant with the glory of the Lord), for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you!
For behold, darkness shall cover the earth, and dense darkness [all] peoples, but the Lord shall arise upon you and His glory shall be seen on you’. Isaiah 60:1-2
Sometimes we need to give a shout, just like in the film Braveheart. ‘FREEDOM!’
We need to shout, not necessarily because of the breakthrough, but because the enemy of our soul has turned around and left!
‘O clap your hands, all ye people! Shout unto God with the voice of triumph!’
Psalm 47:1
How about shouting right now, FREEDOM! Shout nice and loud and give the devil a headache! Go on, I dare you! Let’s do it together: 1 2 3 FREEDOM!
I was dealing with a situation a while back and the Holy Spirit told me to drive past a particular house, wind down the windows of my car and shout out loud, ‘I want my ………. back!’ and to do this three times. In the natural I felt a complete loon, but despite how I felt I did what he directed me to do. The situation didn’t change but I did. I learnt a valuable lesson that day about obedience!
We have got to get over wanting instantaneous results that we see with our natural eye. Don’t get me wrong, when I pray for someone my expectation is that something happens there and then. If I don’t see the results I may continue to pray, but I am thoroughly convinced that as we pray and release the anointing, whether I see something or not, He is faithful and He is doing something!
I am convinced that God is good all the time. My responsibility is to have intimacy with the Holy Spirit; that can be said like this: into me see! Know the word and pray for others trusting Him in the process, but never leaving the person you have prayed for feeling unloved or rejected!
No one is meant to be a spectator and no one should be on the sidelines; the devil's agenda is to rob, kill, steal and destroy.
The day of the lukewarm church and Christian is over. I’ve been lukewarm and hated it, never mind that Jesus said he will spew those who are lukewarm out of his mouth! I’ve been cold too, but my preference is hot, on fire, radical, scary. If I can scare the devil out of people, saved or unsaved, then I’m prepared to be maligned and misunderstood. I’ve been spat at a few times and it’s not nice. There are many around the world who are tortured and put to death for their faith, so I don’t have much to complain about!
Gods in the business of firing up his church, that’s you and me. The church isn’t a building!
It’s time to move in the power of God like never before!
God doesn’t do things in a corner, hidden out of sight. Paul caused riots wherever he went (Acts 19), he spoke fearlessly before Festus and King Agrippa.
God says this in 2 Peter 3:9, ‘The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead, he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.’
When was the last time you shared your testimony, or led someone to Jesus?
Once someone is in hell there is no respite, it’s for eternity. That bothers me. We can no longer leave it to someone else!
God doesn’t want us to hide in a corner, during the UK’s darkest hour. We are not called to be in a witness protection programme! It’s time for each and every Christian to arise and shine.
If you’re alive and reading this blog, then you are part of this generation of believers, to stand in the authority and power of the Holy Spirit for miracles to happen on a scale that we’ve never seen before.
God wants to show off His glorious power through you and me!
We are His stealth bombers!
‘And He said to them, Go into all the world and preach and publish openly the good news (the Gospel) to every creature [of the whole human race].
He who believes [who adheres to and trusts in and relies on the Gospel and Him Whom it sets forth] and is baptised will be saved [from the penalty of eternal death]; but he who does not believe [who does not adhere to and trust in and rely on the Gospel and Him Whom it sets forth] will be condemned.
And these attesting signs will accompany those who believe: in My name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new languages;
They will pick up serpents; and [even] if they drink anything deadly, it will not hurt them; they will lay their hands on the sick, and they will get well.
So then the Lord Jesus, after He had spoken to them, was taken up into heaven and He sat down at the right hand of God.
And they went out and preached everywhere, while the Lord kept working with them and confirming the message by the attesting signs and miracles that closely accompanied [it]. Amen (so be it).’ Mark 16:15 – 20
None of the above verses are passive; none of these verses fit the profile of anyone sitting and watching someone else being used by God. All of these verses relate to what God wants to do through you!
God can turn things around in an instant. You may think that you are on the bottom of the pile in the culture of the day, no influence, no money, then all of a sudden God will move you to the top, to be the head and not the tail!
The greatest attack of the devil isn’t in the environment, it’s the spirit which is making Christians depressed, filled with doubts, confused in the hour when we should be saying that God is getting ready to do the biggest thing that he’s ever done!
You are not a victim; you are a victor!
You may believe that you’re insignificant, that’s a lie!
Stop being intimidated!
We call ourselves Pentecostal, but we have forgotten to stay Pentecostal!
“Moses saw himself as an 80yr old has-been. He had forgotten who he was, and for some you don’t know who you are any more, you have forgotten who God has made you to be!
Moses saw a burning bush:
‘One day Moses was tending the flock of his father-in-law, Jethro, the priest of Midian. He led the flock far into the wilderness and came to Sinai, the mountain of God. There the angel of the Lord appeared to him in a blazing fire from the middle of a bush. Moses stared in amazement. Though the bush was engulfed in flames, it didn’t burn up. “This is amazing,” Moses said to himself.
“Why isn’t that bush burning up? I must go see it.” Exodus 3
When He turned aside, he turned the world upside down!
The church has lost its fire, we make excuses and sit on the fence as well as taking offence! The church has forgotten who she is, what she was birthed out of!
When we, the church, go back to our roots and we open the eyes of the blind, and empty wheelchairs, and see the drug taker and the alcoholic changed in one step instead of twelve, then the world will say,
‘I gotta see this!’
It’s time to stand at our front doors and tell the devil you can’t come into this house, you’re not bringing that sickness into this house; that despair, that oppression that’s on our streets has no power over me; there are angels in this house, there’s power in this house; you can’t have my kids, they aren’t going to be in gangs or on drugs, they will serve the Lord!
I surrendered unto Him all there was of me; everything! Then for the first time I realized what it meant to have real power.
