The shadow of a dog never bit anyone!

I decided to take a walk earlier this evening; my friends will have a wry smile on their faces as I am not known for my walking habits! I’m not safe let out on my own as I have a propensity to getting lost!
As I was walking over to the park near my house, I was wondering whether to pray for the neighbourhood or talk to him about my up-coming event. I was trying to get a sense of what he wanted to draw my attention to!
As I walked, I noticed that the sun, despite being low in the sky there was still a warmth in the air. As I walked over the grass, I suddenly became aware of my shadow walking along side of me!

My legs looked incredibly long, in fact as I looked at my shadow it seemed that I was at least 15’ tall! It was then that Holy Spirit began talking to me about walking in the light. He was drawing my attention to how much of the area around me was covered by my shadow, in comparison to my actual size, which became very noticeable because of the amount of light there was. As I studied my shadow, I could see that my legs were so long, my body was in proportion to my legs, but my head seemed incredibly small!
He began to say to me, that as we walk with him, he illuminates our path. That He is the light, and in Him is no darkness.
"Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path”. Psalm 119:105
My shadow was so much bigger than I was, and the light was magnifying it. Sometimes when we see shadows we become afraid, our imagination begins to take over resulting in negative thoughts, opening the door to fear! Thinking with our natural minds can conjure up all kinds of scarry things! Our imagination can be a wonderful thing, especially when we see ourselves as God’s superheroes. However, far too often we see ourselves as grasshoppers when we encounter adversity.
“We saw the Nephilim, the sons of Anak, who come from the Nephilim.
We were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight”. Numbers 13:33

Psalm 23:4 “Even when I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me”.
My spirit isn’t found in my mind! My mind must be renewed with the word of God. My spirit and soul must come in agreement as my spirit will always agree with Holy Spirit! We are to be led by the Spirit and not by our minds, especially the un-renewed mind!
We can go through life totally oblivious to the light, the power that lives inside of us.
“For in Christ lives all the fullness of God in a human body”.Colossians 2:9
"As he is in the light, so are we" is a biblical phrase from 1 John 1:7
In the light there is no fear of the darkness. I walked across that park being reminded that when the enemy looks at those who walk in the light he sees and feels the effects of a giant shadow cast over him. It’s a turning of the tables. The devil comes to rob, kill, steal and destroy, that is his mission against you and I. However, Jesus came to give us abundant life and that abundant life enables us to exercise the authority and power of the Holy Spirit, to illuminate and destroy the enemies works!
As I walked back to my house I was walking directly into the blinding light of the sun! I knew the route and only had to slightly adjust my gaze.
When the enemy foolishly decides to cast his shadow over your life, turn your gaze towards the son, and as you do you cast a giant shadow over those demonic forces, and like Jesus:
“So, all those in the synagogue, when they heard these things, were filled with wrath, and rose up and thrust Him out of the city; and they led Him to the brow of the hill on which their city was built, that they might throw Him down over the cliff. Then passing through the midst of them, He went His way”. Luke 4:28-30

When properly dressed in God’s armour, the enemy has no idea who he is dealing with and will turn and flee as you stand your ground.
"Having done all, stand" refers to a call to put on the full armour of God and then remain steadfast and firm in the face of spiritual adversity. It means to have fulfilled every necessary action, equipped oneself with spiritual readiness, and now to remain resolute, immovable, and confident in divine power, rather than collapsing or giving up. Ephesians 6
Sometimes we need to speak to the darkness, at other times just keep walking, ignoring it. The light that is in you is stronger than any darkness!
My shadow looked very imposing and as I gave my full attention to watching it move with me, I began to get a clear picture of just what the enemy sees when he dares to turn his attention to a Christian who knows their identity and authority in Jesus! His darkness is nothing in comparison to the light of God that is within us!
Whatever is trying to cast a ‘giant’ shadow over you today, whether sickness, fear or lack of any kind, remind yourself of the giant shadow that you cast of victory as you use your voice to enforce the victory that Jesus won at the cross!

You are not a grasshopper! Don’t let the devil intimidate you today, remember the shadow of a dog never bit anyone!
I think that I should walk with Holy Spirit more often, how about you?
